25's Nemesis
Hello all!
I was wondering if anyone has had the Hot Stack for Tele and the Hot for Tele in the same guitar.
I currently have a Hot for Tele in an alder/maple/maple 50's style MIJ Fernandez telecaster with a steel, 3 saddle, ashtray bridge. It's paired with a SM-1b at the neck and uses a standard 3 way with 250k pots, one of them being a push/pull unit used to tap the STL-2b.
I like this set up for rock and blues stuff, but it leans more towards soapbar territory at the bridge. There's not a lot of tele style twang when used at full output. When tapped, the sound does get brighter and cleaner, but it still lacks some of the piano-like bottom end that a good telecaster lead pickup has.
Does the Hot Stack for Tele lead have that twang? Should I just get a Jerry Donahue?
