Anyone use the single coil size Hot Rails Humbucker in a Strat neck position?
Thinking about putting one in my Strat HSS..
Any review, feedback or technical opinion would be appreciated.. THNX

Re: Hot Rail Neck Strat

I've used it several times in a Strat (as well as a Jackson Soloist...Stratish I guess) with a JB the bridge.

Very warm and very hot/powerful. Can sometimes be a tad muddy if you have a lot of distortion with warm settings. Pairs very well with the JB, IMO.

Can nail the classic rock to metal. Tame in the volume knob and you can get some nice bluesy tones with it too.

What are you planning on pairing it with?

Re: Hot Rail Neck Strat

Well this guitar has a standard fender single coil which pairs nicely with the DiMarzio DP155 Tone Zone Humbucker that I put in the bridge position so I want to find something that will work with that single coil.
The last time That I checked the output of the single coil with a multimeter I believe the OHMS read about 6.8. However the DiMarzio DP 155 was way up to around 15.7..

the hot rails is probably a fine match for the tone zone

Also consider the Satch track ;) I just ordered one and was on the fence between the two. The ST should have a tighter bass
