i wanted to put a hot rails pickup into the neck of my mexican tele. but i'm concerned i'll lose the clean sound that the tele has in the bridge. will the hot rails do that? what happens if i put the hot rails in the neck instead?

Re: Hot rails in tele

You can put a HotRail in bridge position, and when you need it single coil, you can split the coils with push/pull poti. So you would have both worlds.. When you need power you have the Hot Rails distortion.. and When you need it like a single you have only the one Rail of the Hot Rails..

I made it, it works.. and it sounds good..

The neck position could be Quarterpound or Hot for TELE... matching with Hot Rails..

Re: Hot rails in tele

The Tele Hot Rail will not fit into the neck position---it is simply too large to fit that slot. With a small amount of modification to the guitar, you can fit a Strat Hot Rail in the neck position.
