Hot Rod Deluxe and Box of Rock - aint too bad

I went and jammed with a friend who plays the drums earlier this afternoon. There's a place in Boston where you can pay 25 bucks an hour to use a room that is fitted with some average to good gear, depending on which room you ask for. We were in a room with a Fender HRD. I brought my Carvin C66 with Dimarzio Norton, Area 67 and PAF Pro with hipshot tream and my trusty Box of Rock along with me. I chilled on the clean channel and turned on the BOR when I wanted to get rocking and the combo sounded pretty good. The amp is totally a different beast with this pedal and the reason I made this post is to remind folks that an average amp with great pedals is also a strong option. I hardly tweaked any of the knobs on the amp or pedal, as we wanted to get going quickly, but the sound was pretty good and definitely Marshally. It had a very full, organic and sustaining Brown sound. I am still not a big fan of the HRDs clean tones, but I also didn't really play with the settings on the amp. These amps really do take pedals well. By the way, my Box of Rock is one of the hand painted versions.
