Hot Rod Strat Wiring

Oh Great Gurus of Tone,

I'm considering doing some custom wiring on my Jeff Beck Strat (PG Br, SSL-2 N&M), something like the new Fender S-1 switching;

Anyone out there have this set-up, or tried some alternate wiring that they've liked/disliked? (series combo's of SC's or split HB's or what-have-you)

This guitar is my #1 and I'd like a little more versatility, provided it's actually useful.

'preciate it! :22:

Re: Hot Rod Strat Wiring

I think that Kent S is the authority on the S1 switching system. ;)

As for other things, I've got my QP's wired in series through a push/pull pot. I'm going to dump that option and change it to something else. Its not really all that useful as a "sound". The "tapped" function, on the other hand, is my favorite mod.

Ooops . . . and almost forgot. On an HSS Tele style guitar, swapping the neck and middle "hot" wire, so that you can do neck/bridge with the 5-way is very cool, in my book. ;)

Re: Hot Rod Strat Wiring

I have push-pulls that let me split the Br HB and let me turn it on independently, and I must agree w/ the neck/bridge combo, specifically when the Br is split; when it's not, the Br HB tends to overpower the neck PU.

Thanks, and keep 'em coming...
