Hi there! What makes the Hot-Rodded Humbucker Set hot-rodded? It looks like just a standard Jazz and a JB, or am I missing something? Thanks!

Exactly. One of the first aftermarket sets that was hotter than vintage, so "hot-rodded". Personally, I think it's a fitting name as that's a do-it-all rock and metal pairing

right. its just the jazz neck and jb as a set. the call the 59 set the vintage blues set. marketing stuff

Yeah, it is 'hot rodded' over a standard stock set of pickups available in most guitars at the time.

I know when I was a dealer I sold a buttload of them online and locally. I still have 5 or 6 sets in stock for clients.

Have had the hot rod set in my older MIK Epiphone Les Paul Custom for years!:14:

They're originally intended to be a telecaster pickup, but noiseless, and hotter. Seymour (as he told the story to me, IRL), didn't know how to make such a pickup in a singlecoil format, so it became humbuckers.

And the JB/Jazz set, in any F-style guitar, is just a homerun.
