How can I find out what pickup this is.

So i came across the video on the youtube https://youtu.be/a7LoT1hev_M and in the comments he states the pickup in the guitar is a custom seymour duncan 16k p/u. How can I find out what pickup it is???

You'd probably have to ask Palermo, or the Custom Shop, but if they have an exclusive license arrangement, they aren't going to tell you. It wouldn't surprise me if it was something in between a Frankenstein/IM1 and an RTM. But your best bet is to tell the Custom Shop you want a pickup that sounds exactly like the Palermo pickup, without specifying ordering an actual Palermo spec pickup. Get what I mean?

Well if it is really Custom (for them) the only thing we know is that it is not a regular or CS production SD pickup.

The original Facebook post for that guitar said "custom Jeff Beck wound to 16K"

So, definitely JB-based, if not just a regular ol' JB wound by the Custom Shop (probably with a roughcast or degaussed mag)

Isn't every JB (and DD for that matter) 16K?

If you listen to the clip, it doesn't sound like a JB to me. Distortion maybe. Don't know why they'd have the custom shop wind a Distortion, though.
