How can I get THE TONE?

Hello experienced pickup users.I am looking for a bridge pickup for clear distortion soloing.I dont know how much sense that makes.I will give you an example.Listen to any of my song and listen to the chorus melody parts https://soundcloud.com/venysonn .Some of them are even recorded with a clean sound because I could not get lead distortion sound I wanted.I need a bridge pickup that will be crystal clear for distortion solos and I dont need it for clean because i never use brigde pickup for cleans.I have an ibanez grgr121 ex with phat cat on the bridge and telecaster deluxe 72 with wide range humbuckers.I was thinking maybe Seymour Duncan Invader maybe? What do you think? Thanks!

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

The Invader may not give you "clear" distortion. Since your guitar is basswood, I'd recommend one of the Dimarzio Evolutions. Depending on how bright/tight you want, Evolution is the brightest and hottest, then Evo 2, then Evolution neck. Make sure you get an F Spaced model.

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

Are we to assume that the Fender '72 Tele Deluxe is a Mexican-built re-issue with modern Wide Range lookalike pickups?

Also, what amplification and/or effect pedals are you using? (Your SoundCloud thread mentioned a Fender G-DEC modelling combo.)

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

I would suggest the Bill Lawrence L-500-L. If you want even cleaner you could try the L-500-R. I actually use the R model in the bridge of some of my guitars.

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

The L500 from wilde pickups is what you want for super clear distortion. (This is the clearest pup from all that are listed in this post)

From Seymour Duncan You want either a Dimebucker or Alternative 8.

From Dimarzio I would suggest maybe the Crunch Lab.

Yes,it is the mexican made reissue with those big reissue wide range pickups. I use my fender g-dec and I use just a little bit of delay

Btw,could I just put any of those pickups in my telecaster by using a pickup ring?

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

Love the Alt.8 Maybe even the Crazy8? Dimebucker is cool too.

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

I think the Full Shred sounds great in basswood, plenty of treble and extremely tight and nice dynamics.

Re: How can I get THE TONE?

My basswood JEM sounds great with the aforementioned DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers. As is described: feat clarity and tight low end. It's my benchmark for pups I buy. The SD Black Winters live up to that benchmark, but they do have a completely different sound. Much more darkness and not the sound you're looking for...
