How Do I Fatten an SG?

If your SG already has a 490t in the bridge, don't bother with a Seth bridge. I tried it, and it sounded thinner than the stock 490t.

You are correct - currently I have the stock 400-series pups in both spots. I actually like the neck, it's very articulate, even when rolled down. But the bridge is a real dog. Very, very tinny.

Try the Phat Cats. I'm interested to see how those would change the sound of my V, and if I'm not mistaken, both the Korina V and SG are pretty bright compard to a Paul. Though with Epi, I wouldn't make a bet that the bodies use the actual woods as advertised.

Oh well, either, go for the Phat Cats. But it all depends on what you're playing, so abuse the crap out of the 21 day return policy if you aren't happy.

Not if you put an Alnico 5 mag in it.

Also, as I've mentioned in other threads, try just pulling the pole pieces out and grinding about 1/8" off the bottom end. You won't believe how much beef that adds...

Do you mean the Seths or the 400-series?

I was referring to the 400-series pickups. I think the Phat Cats are an interesting option. I think neck P-90's with the tone rolled back can pull off some tasty jazz and be really warm.
