Off my JB? Im using it as the p'up in my Frankenstrat, its looking pretty good, except for the GLARING Seymour Duncan logo on the p'up.

WHats the best way of hiding it?

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

Funny isn't it that SD will make custom pickups such as the C5 based upon the suggestions and feedback from the SDUGF but even though I don't belive I've come across a single peson who wants their pickup to say "Seymour Duncan" on it they still slap it on all of them.

I'm a huge SD fan and gladly will tell everyone I know how much I love their products but those logos are just plain ugly.

Just looks very tacky on a nice looking guitar to have a logo

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

Especially when you flip one around and stick in the neck...SD upside down is a bit of an eye sore.

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

It is an eyesore. Same reason o name brand clothing is an eyesore if they have they have the brand name blazing on the product. At least with Dimarzio they just imprint the name in small letters without any color change (except for the pickups covers on my Malmsteen.

It's ridiculous to have a guitar that says Jackson on the headstock, Floyd Rose on the bridge, schaller on the tuners, then in bright huge letters Seymour Duncan on the pickups. The guitar just looks modded out and totally aftermarket. Not to mention free advertising for Seymour Duncan. Makes the guitar look like a frankenstrat.

Seymour Duncan should just use a smaller logo- maybe "SD" in the corner like EMG's do. They already have the Seymour Dundan logo stamped on the baseplate.

I see it also as a way to but sell cheap guitars. Some guitars you might not look at, like a $500 Fender Lite Ash strat. But with the Duncan logo on the pickups you're more likely to pick it up and see how it sounds. Why not just leave that information on the hang tag?????

I don't like that logo either. So far, I've avoided buying any Duncans with a logo. If I did, I'd have to remove it. I just don't like them. '59s don't have it whether you get them with covers or not.

I've been thinking of getting a Pearly Gates for a rawer sound in my Les Paul, but I'd probably just order it with a nickel cover anyhow.

Brasso sounds like a better plan than some of the other suggestions I've heard.

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

Brasso works - I've done it. Having said that, I actually don't mind the logos.

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

I like the subtle silver-on-white logo my Classic Stacks have. I wonder if they could come up with something similar for the black bobbin pickups. White-on-black is as high contrast as it gets, and I can see how some might object to that.

Honestly, I'm glad those pups have logos - I bought that Strat used and probably wouldn't have given it a second look (on the surface, it's a pretty plain-looking American Standard) if it didn't have Duncans. It turned out to be a really sweet guitar.

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

I think the logo looks fine. I typically prefer the logo on SD pickups if I can get it. It's a traditional font and it's a fine size, though it could be a wee bit smaller. I think it adds a touch of class and a fine bit of detail. I wear my Duncan pickups proudly.

I say they leave them on. It's easier to take them off than it is to put them on.

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

I wouldn't mind having the logo on the pup...the only thing I don't like is that big "S" on the minihumbuckers.

Re: How do I get the SD Logo

I love the look of the logos. This is the only company I like so I will totally give them free advertisement. I have no problem with it.

I actually love that big "S" on the minibuckers!
