How do i setup a behringer FCB1010 to control marshall jmp1 preamp via midi?

Im trying to set up a rig (not mine) where a marshall jmp1 valve midi preamp can be controlled by a behringer midi controller fcb1010 floorboard. Its for my teacher and he doesnt know much about midi and stuff so i helped him today set it up, but i couldnt for the life of me figure out how to set up the expression pedals to do anything...anyway details below.

I figured out how to select patch numbers using the floorboard and that was simply by putting the midi out of the floorboard to the midi in of the jmp. But i wanted to figure out how to control the output volume or something like that with the expression pedals.

Please can someone help me set this up, ive tried lots of things and its for one of my guitar teachers rigs which he has to have set up in a week and he knows little about these things but i just couldnt figure out the expression pedals.

you need to set up the jmp 1 to tell it to:

1) respond to continuous controller messages on a given midi channel
2) what to do with them (e.g. control output volume)

then you need to set up the foot controller to send out continuous controller messages on the same channel that you assigned the jmp1

i cant be more specific becuase i have never touched either of those units

if it isnt in the manuals, i bet you might find some FAQs or a forum somewhere on the www ... google knows

The expression pedals may not do ANYTHING if the preset doesn't have real time control. You should be able to use one of the expression pedals as a volume/mute.
