how do i wire a DiMarzio HS-2 in single coil mode?? I DESPERATELY NEED FAST ANSWERS..

hello :)
today i am faced with a wire problem that i cant find a answer too..
how do i wire my dimarzio hs2 in single coil mode?
i know for the normal(factory standard) wiring it is ground/green, black/white, and red as hot
how is it for single coil mode?

The black and white soldered together is what connects the 2 coils in series so disconnect those then the Red is the start of the top coil and the black is the finish.

so just connect the black/green/and bare wire to the pot and the red to the switch and leave the white wire alone tape so it doesnt touch anything??

That would leave your pup permanently in split mode.

You could, however, solder the black and white wires to one lug of a SPST switch and the other lug solder to ground. Then you could switch between full bucker mode and split mode. (Of course you could also use a DPDT push/pull switch-pot to do the task.)

That would leave your pup permanently in split mode.
Its not uncommon for people to run HS2's or 3's that way actually. You can blame Eric Johnson who would actually clip the wires on the coil so only the top coil would operate. Its slightly louder than running both coils strangely enough.
