How do you change PUP covers

Re: How do you change PUP covers

The solder they use is like iron. So difficult to melt it, that you may actually melt the edges of the bobbins first. Most guys use a dremel cutter or piece of hacksaw blade to cut through it. Then when you reinstall them, just try and melt them back together or throw some extra solder on that spot. I always repot them, if the covers come off, then back on.

I meant the plastic whatchamacallits. You know black, logo zebra ect.

Hmm. I don't think you can, since the wire is wound around it. I've heard of stick-on bobbin toppers, which are adhesives that look pretty realistic.
