How do you deal with the sharp height adjustment screws on a strat bridge?

I like to anchor my hand on the bridge, and the low e string has a real sharp screw that is ready to shred my hand to pieces.

Can these screws be ground, covered, replaced, or what? What do you guys do?

Thanks.

You should be able to replace the screws to fix that problem. The main problem if finding the right screws for the saddle. Another thing you can do is just raise all the saddle heights so the screws aren't sticking out. For a quick fix you can file down the top of screw, before doing that make sure your not going to ever raise the height on the saddle again, if you plan to don't do this option.

I had this problem on my Barden tele bridge, but luckily it came with several different height screws.

if you can find a fairly good hardware store, you could take one in and get a shorter size, or go to a luthier and have him order some if they aren't in stock

Set them just below a good height, file them, and raise them some more so that the screw is below the saddle.

If you don't mind that it's sticking out, and your only objection is a sharp burr on it from the tooling, then you can roll some 600 grit back and forth across the top of the bolt, to smooth it out. It won't harm anything. A file on the top could roll a burr into the allen hole, making it difficult to get a wrench in later. You can always file the bottoms of the bolts, too.
