How Good Do Your Demos Have To Be?

Re: How Good Do Your Demos Have To Be?

Thanks for the link.

My guitar teacher has drummed that into me from day one -

"If you want to get signed don't play like people play at the moment, because if you do you're already years behind the business."

Hmmm, I play like people played 10-15 years ago. Based on the cycle of trends that seems to exist, does that mean I'm way behind, or way ahead ;)

Good advice. A good press kit, whether it's going to a radio sation, magazine, web zine, or label, will get you much further than a crappy one, period, end of story. It costs a boatload of money to do it, but if you believe that it will pay off, it's well worth the money. At least, it has been for my band.
