How Hard Would It Be To Make An Amp?

I'm talking about a two footswitchable channel amp, one being clean and the other overdrive. Like many Marshalls basically......

If I could get the board made for me, and then got all the parts, how hard would wiring them all in and setting things up be?

Building such an amp ( 2 channels, footswitchable channels, etc.) from scratch (not to mention coming up with a great sounding design the first time) is probably not realistic for a beginner.

Has anyone heard the new BALLS amps? They're based on the now legendary 60's 18 watters from Marshall and are reputed to be the most touch sensitive, do it all with just your guitar's volume control, amps on the market. Expensive too...around $2500 or so.

Sorry to hijack your post, but once again www.18watt.com

Apperantly, they sell kits and everyting. I haven't read they're site too much, I found it when looking for a drawing of a Marshall 1960a cab (of which they do have a wonderfull drawing with all the measurments and wood specs).

I believe the creator of the BALLS amps is a contributor on that forum. Thanks for the link, I've been wanting to learn more about those amps.
