How high output can you go in the neck?

Well it looks like we're getting a mid-high output humbucker for the forum pup but I've only got one slot or 2 if I get a new scratchplate so how high is too high to drop in the neck slot? I've got a custom in the bridge which is probably way to hot as well.

I dunno man, I have a custom in the neck...it actually doesn't sound half bad...the notes are very crisp but yet have warmth to them...Doesn't sound like my gibson or fender neck...I think that with distortion, it's not as creamy as my gibson/fender neck pups...but there is still cream...note, I have the pups relatively low compared to the bridge.

they sky's the limit my friend. its really up to personal preference on how u want ur neck humbucker to be.

There's no hard-and-fast rule, depends on your level of mud tolerance. If you want sheer, blistering output just for single note lines and don't ever need a really clean woody tone that sounds like water, the sky's the limit.

But for me, anything over 8k is suspect.
