How hot is the Duncan Custom Custom?

Re: How hot is the Duncan Custom Custom?

Bump

I think it's hot but doesn't sound as hot due to its smoother character. IDK.

I use a Custom Custom. It's definately stronger than a vintage paf or Seth Lover or 59B. Louder, thicker and creamier. Great pickup. When we did a shootout recently between Tom Holmes HB's, Burstbucker a2 HB's, Custom 5 and I forget which else we all thought the Custom Custom in my Monoco won. Just an instantly great tone in that guitar. Lew

Re: How hot is the Duncan Custom Custom?

Think of the CC as the slightly hotter A2 PAF and the C-5 as the slightly hotter A5 PAF

The CC is a little meatier sounding, with fuller mids and nice growl, but the C-5 is more balanced, has nice tight low end, and the mids and highs are fairly neutral, which makes it a better 'all purpose' bridge pickup. I love both, but the C-5 is a tad more articulate.

I use a CC with an Alnico II pro, the AIIPro is a pretty much a vintage output bucker (a little lower actually) and the CC does not overpower the AIIPro, but it is hotter...I'm with Lew it is a great pickup!
