How hot is the Hot Rails neck.....

... when used at the bridge? I'm looking for something that sits between the CR and HR bridge models and has rails (no JB Jr.).

The only thing to be concerned with (that I can't verify) is that the neck Hot Rails may be voiced brighter to make up for the extra bass at the neck position. In that case you may end up with a hot and bright bridge pickup. I can't verify this, only speculating...

I wonder hiw bright it would be? As long as its fatter than the CRb and more open than the HRb, it can't be too bad, right?

I'm with Benjoy 26 on this as I may end up doing the same, but I am conerned about the brightness I hope that it's not 'thin' sounding.

I've never tried using it that way, but my HRn is far from bright...then again, so is the HRb.

my friend used to have a HR N in the bridge position of his strat (its now in the neck position of my ernie ball). Honestly, I'll say that it sounded pretty good, especially driving his old 50 watt JCM800. it'll be different with different setups though.

to tell the truth, when I was doin work on his guitar i was puttin everything through my line 6 pod, which tends to really make everything sound the same. What was noticable was that it didnt have as much power, but it didnt seem overly bright at all either. The hot rails isnt exactly a bright pickup to begin with...
I personally liked the way it sounded. Definately still a pretty hot pickup, but not quite as wild as its bridge counterpart.
