Bullet Proof Toneologist
While some dream of a pristine 67 Plexi, I dream of finding cheap n ugly amps that no one wants. My latest conquest? A Craigslist 75.00 bomb, a 70s SS Ampeg G-60, I gotta feeling this think is gonna shake some walls... Have to wait to plug it in til tonight, but I got that cheap amp score tingle goin on...
Here is a clip, the cam was blocked a bit by a speaker cab, so it is a bit darker than it was in real life. The amp does not snarl like my PV Standard's but it has really nice and warm guts, has a big and open vibe to it. You can EQ it to sound awful very easily, just like a V4, lotta range, in some ways too much.... My playing is real sloppy on this, but the idea is conveyed.
