How is the STC-3M4 different than the stock MusicMan Stingray 3 band EQ?

Well, you do get the Slap Switch, as well as trim pots on the PC board for fine-tuning that Slap Switch's EQ.
I've read people say things like:

"the lows & low mids on the SD are "chunkier" and the top end isn't as "glassy"...

"the EB preamp is a bit more "nasally"...but not overly so, IMO"

You can also increase the mids on the SD preamp and clone the sound of the stock MM preamp. So it does the same thing, but has more range, with a few small additions.
