How long will new strings last?

I got a box of 10 sets of strings well over a year ago, and I still have 2 packs left. With only 3 guitars, and not playing in a band, I don't need to change them that often. How long will those new packs of strings last; by new ones I mean the ones still in the packs, not having been strung up on a guitar. Should I get new ones next time I need a string change, or will they last until they get put on a guitar and played?

I misread the original post. They should last quite a while in the package. I would say they'd be perfectly fine. Especially D-Addarios because they are in a sealed package.

Yeah, as long as you didn't have them out playing with them or letting your friends get their greasy paws all over them, they should be fine.
