Re: how many watts for vocals?
From my experiences (apart from that Club show we played recently, Our Pa is nearly running louder at rehersals that it is at Gigs. We used to use a 300w a side power amp, though it was 300w per side at 4ohm and I was only runng 2 speakers at 8Ohm each so really the amp was only runnign at abuot 190watts per side, or about 400watts in total as i was bridging it. It was plently for any of the gigs we were playing if it was just vocals we were using, but we had everything going into it so it was coming up a bit short (mind you only just a bit short for gigs, we defintily got by fine though).
Now I bought a Dynacord Powermate 1000. 500watts per side, thats what i used for the Med sized club we played and it was fine!
Thought at gigs We still only have 2 Tops so we're at 250watts per side,, but thats plenty for micing eveything at the pub and function room gigs without wanting to be overly loud so all is good!!
+ the dynacords sound quality is just marvellous!!!!
