The PG is brighter, more open in the mids, and allows you to shape a note more by how you strike it. It's also higher output than the APH.

The APH is smooth, has a bit more compression, and seems to have more lower mids.

Think "Cheap Sunglasses" vs. "Sweet Child".

I like them both but preffer the PG in a single cut and the APH in a double cut.

BTW, I'm talking about the neck models; I've never had an APHb.

benjy summed it up pretty well. the alnico II pro is smoother in the top end and upper mid range with a little more bottom end.
