How much variation should you expect?

OK so if Duncan's spec says 9K and your pickup measures 8K, is that normal? Out of spec? How much effect would you expect on the sound? In this case a bridge pickup, where you would not want it too thin. Thanks!

I think there is enough variation created from miscalibrated meters and just the ambient room temperature to induce that much variation in a typical scenario. My meter for example typically reads most pups .3 - .5 higher than published specs.

Well...I thought of that, which is why I used two meters!
