how much would my guitar sell for?

hey... i'm thinking about selling my gibson les paul studio plus 03' on e-bay... i'm wondering how much money i can get for it. it was originally 1500 dollars. it's in near mint condition. VERY VERY clean. beautiful desertburst finish. frets have like no wear on them. everything works fine. neck is straight too. i'm realllllly gassing for a schecter c-1 plus vintage sunburst.. i just love the 24 frets and i can't stand the les paul's sticky glossy neck and where neck is jointed with the body. can't really access higher frets too easy. :32: so any assumed end bid prices? or any reasonable buy-it-now prices? here are some pics...

i would never sell a bigson for a schecter but i would say a good asking price is 1000. i like the finish on it man.

any chances it will reach 1200?

Welcome to my world. I'm having the same problem :yell:

Over 300 hits, and not one person has bid on my starting reserve price of 1150 on my LP Standard w/ Seymour Duncan Antiquities. I know there's atleast one person that will be snipe bidding, but I really want it to sell for 1250 (even after selling it, I'll only get 1200 because eBay is freakin' expensive as hell to list ****).

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

Dunno about the $1200, but you should be able to get a grand. Nice paint job. Why would you dump that for a Schecter? If you want the Schecter that badly, just save up for it. The Gibson will hold its value longer.

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

$850 tops. I buy and sell (broker) instruments. Last Les Paul studio I sold I got $611. There is no way you are going to get 1,200 and possible but very very very unlikely you'll get 1,000. I'd say $800-$950 is what you might get if you're lucky. The best way to tell is search ebay or completed items for les paul studios, sell what they sold for, and that's pretty much what people will compare it to.

I say keep the gibson and save up for the Schecter. I hate Gibson guitars but I wouldn't mind getting a desertburst like that.

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

I think you are going to be hard pressed to get the sort of figure that you are hoping for - no disrespect but for that sort of money people will probably get a LP standard. If you are so keen on getting the Scheter why don't you do a trade?

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

I think Xero hit it well, if you get 1000 Bucks, consider ourself very lucky and don´t tell anyone ;)

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

eh.. but studio plus is worth around 400 dollars more than the normal studio... so i thought it would go for higher prices than the 600-800 that normal studios sell for... but yea... i guess i'll be happy for 1000+

you still won't get 1,000. Put 'er up on ebay and give it a shot, if you sell it for that much I'll eat my words. I'm more than positive you won't though. If you do though, I'd be happy for ya and I say sell it fast and don't look back. :)

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

aw... that sucks... can't get 1000 for a guitar i payed 1500 for... =[ darn...

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

I was origionally thinking $1100 right when I saw the thread. I think that's a great price, and after I saw the pics, well deserving! Put "Buy it Now" for $1100, reserve at maybe $850? Sweet axe bro!

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

man those studio pluses sold for CHEAP.... wowww.... i've seen normal studios go higher than that...

yeah that's what I was thinking. Maybe I should Gibson a chance again...hmmmmm. If I come across an alpine white studio with gold hardware with a reasonable price I might just have to consider it. :burnout:

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

yea... darn... what a bargain hahaha seriously... i love the tone of my les paul, i just don't like the neck and the bad access to higher frets... maybe i should just keep it, because i'll probably regret it if i sell it... but the SCHECTER... *drool*

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

Yeah keep the Gibson, you will regret getting rid of it especially if you lose that much money. I had a Schecter C-1 plus for a couple of years and it's a great guitar. The one thing I hated about that guitar thought was the neck. The curve was too dramatic and it was too thick in the middle. It just didn't work for my hands. But it's definately a nice sounding well made guitar. But I hate to admit the Gibson probably is a better guitar, and they are going to sound pretty similiar considering they use the same type of construction, woods, etc. I ended up selling my C-1 plus and I recently got an ESP EC-1000 and it's one of the best guitars I've ever owned, I love it.

Re: how much would my guitar sell for?

Your in the grey area now as far as resale Value goes. In years from
now it will start to regain value ( going by the vintage market?) I
would hold on to it if you can?
