Play it, if it plays right, feels right to you, under $500 I'd snatch it up. Don't mind the buckle rash, it adds character, the faded series aren't intended to have long lasting finishes

Now that I have a closer look, the fretboard looks too dark and uniform, without any grain, so I might have been painted over. What do you think?

Most undoubtedly. It's baked maple...which is NOT that dark!

I would think dyed, or maybe stained?. But not painted. That would be asinine.

I think I’m gonna let this one pass, too many flags for my taste... plus the seller doesn’t want to meet me half way kn the price.
