How should I finger these chords?

I thought about recording a cover of The Ramones' "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker", and I saw a tab that used these chords:

C
8 10 10 9 x x

G
3 5 5 4 3 3

Am
5 7 7 5 x x

F
1 3 3 2 1 1

Bb
6 8 8 7 6 x

Can you tell me what's the normal way to finger these chords? I'm stupid when it comes to chords, lol. :smack:

I don't even know if this is the correct chords for the song, but I've seen it tabbed out several places with those chords, and a second underlying guitar with some power chords (which is easy enough).

Re: How should I finger these chords?

yea, bar chords. Sometimes i do use my thumb for the bass note, though.

Re: How should I finger these chords?

That's not too difficult - it's just a barred E shape in different positions.

F
1 3 3 2 1 1

Lay the first finger across the first fret (F) to bar all the strings, use your ring and pinky for A and D, and your middle for the G string. From there, all you have to do is slide the shape around (lift your middle finger for the Am).

While on the subject of The Ramones, listen to the solo in "My Sharona"...oh..my..god... that solo is divine! I would give my left nut to be able to make and play such a solo..

That's all very well, but how about giving up something that you'd actually get to use? :D :D

Re: How should I finger these chords?

my sharona was by 'the knack', not the ramones

and yeah, that solo is really cool

Re: How should I finger these chords?

Dude you gotta know poewr chords!!!?! Come on! Every great song ever made uses power chords!

Re: How should I finger these chords?

its a 5th of a power chord.

Its the same, just use the 3 lowest notes of the chord.

Re: How should I finger these chords?

See, I leave the thread, and everyone goes bonkers calling it powerchords and a "5th of a powerchord". Wtf :laugh2:

A power chord is a "normal" chord with the 3rd interval ommitted, leaving only the 5th interval. Power chord = 5th diad.

These aren't powerchords, they're full triad chords barred in different positions. All three notes are present, the root, the 3rd, and the 5th.

Re: How should I finger these chords?

Thank god, I thought I was wrong for a second there, when I said it wasn't power chords.
