Hello,
Here's a big Custom Builders secret " KIWI BROWN CAN "
Be sure to use "BROWN" not Black.
Rub it on and off quickly, do not let it dry.

wow, that's a good Idea. I've also heard of people using coffee (like the tea method) but again, you cannot, repeat CANNOT, take the covers off of the classic stack plus. you will destroy the pickup.

I was able to remove the covers on my Classic stack bridge with no problems and used the regular cream-colored fender cover. the stack is taller but the fender cover will fit.skyydogg01 said:

I had contacted Duncan about aged covers and said the cover was part of the pickup, completely encased....
I guess i could inquire about aged pickups for JB jr and Classic stack plus from Custom shop..Wonder how much more they would cost?
Shoe polish works, just worried about getting it caught in pole pieces of JB jr....

From MJ at Seymour Duncan....
I just finish ageing the Stack plus covers they look great I can take orders staring know, $ 150.00 each $280. for two or or $375.00 for a set of three Lead time 4 weeks .

This is really expensive...For just a different color cover on a stock pickup...Dimarzio offers different colors on their pickups for no additional cost.
They should make the covere removable like the old style and offer different colors, especially aged for people with classic strats, reissues, etc....

no, no, i dont think you understand. they actually use a time machine. they go back 50 years and send the pickups to themselves, via western union, like on back to the future. voila! aged pickups especially for you.

Yes, on a classic stack.... But not on a Classic Stack PLUS, there´s a difference
The custom Shop is the custom shop..... as with most companies, SD likely chooses it´s production pickups out of the most commonly ordered CS specs.
In other words, just like the C-5: if there´s enough interest over a long enough period of time (i.e. Orders for that spec), it will be made into a production option. BTW, SD offers different colors on very many of their pickups for zero upcharge, just like Dimarghzio also has pickups that they DON´t offer different colors on, the comparison is inherently flawed.....
