How to brighten up a little 59'?

I couldn't seem to get any helpful advice with a good bridge pickup to match up with a Seth Lover in the neck position of a Bluesboy semi-hollow guitar, so...after listening to the SD sound samples, I went ahead and installed a Little 59' in the bridge. I like the sound of the Little 59' (especially when it's used together with the Seth Lover...smooooth), but now, when I use the 59' by itself, it's not quite as bright as I would like. Any good ways to brighten the tone just a little? Thanx!

You could try a 500k volume pot if you're using a 250k now.........

You could try adjusting the pole pieces up some too. These are great for that kind of tweaking.

You could put a no-load tone pot in there. When the tone pot is on 10 the tone circuit is removed from the circuit. There's always some treble that bleeds to ground through a standard tone pot even when it's on 10...so try a no-load tone pot to prevent that treble from bleeding to ground through the tone pot. Use 500K pots too.

This is just a slight variation on what Lew said - connect the tone control to the "hot" wire of the Seth. That way, its only in the circuit when the Seth is selected, ergo, its "out" when using the Lil 59 by itself. Its a simple way to achieve what Lew said, and saves you from modding the tone pot.

Just a thought.

Edit: However, it will prevent you from using the tone control at all with the Lil 59.

Re: How to brighten up a little 59'?

Thanx everyone. Those were all extremely good suggestions. I might give some of them a try. I'm sure they might help some other Tele/59' users who want a brighter sound too. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner, but I turned the presence control on my amp up to 10 and WHAM! I've got more bite than I know what to do with now. That Little 59' is a really veratlie pickup when you use the presence control in your EQ. Thanx again for all of your help. :outahere:
