aite, i figure this should be an easy task, but i just wanna be sure that i don't fry my tubes~

im using engl 530 preamp, stereo, so it has 2 mono output jacks at the back

the peavey 50/50 has 2 sets of inputs on the back panel

input 1 for channel 1: 2 jacks, both mono i guess?
input 2 for channel 2: 2 jacks, ditto

each channel is 50 watts, or one can run it as 100w mono (bridged)

should i connect like this:

preamp out 1 ----> one of the jacks under input 1
preamp out 2 ----> one of the jacks under input 2

then finally, since i only have a 8 ohm 112 cab,

how do i connect the power amp to the cab?

I have the same power amp. I would do the preamp like you said: one input per channel.
For the cab, put the switch to MONO and make sure the ohms switch is set for 8 on the MONO side (it's like that in the picture). Then take a speaker cable, and run from one of the the OUTPUT 1 jacks to the jack on your cab.

If you only have one speaker, hooking up the pre and the amp in stereo, won't do much for you. You'll have to get another speaker to get the benefits.

thx for the tips~ care to explain why this setup won't benefit? 2 cabs give a fuller sound?

Since you are only running one cabinet, any stereo effects that you have in your rig won't be heard as stereo. If you don't have any stereo effects though, it shouldn't really make any difference.

i see~ great, i don't use effects at the moment, just plug and play.

What these guys said sounds right.
I'd still recommend going to Peavey's site and seeing if you can download the manual, and then read it.
It looks from the pic like your power amp is set up so you can run it into one cab.
I have this Marshall 20/20 power amp. It specifically says you have to connect that power amp to two speaker cabs or a stereo speaker cab, or you'll wreck the output transformer.

Quirks like that (and you never know if your gear has one until you read about it or you wreck your gear) are why getting a copy of the manual and reading it is highly recommended.

1) +1 GET THE MANUAL & READ IT !

2) and EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: use proper speaker cables & not a guitar cable. You can blow a fuse at the least...more in the worst case scenario !

Another speaker cab will allow you actual stereo capabilities.

thx for the input guys~ yes i have the manual, just wanna confirm a bit on the setup

also, how do i tell the cable is a speaker cable? the one i m using now is thicker than normal cables im using, came with the orange tt i bought, i suppose that's a speaker cable? nothing wrong so far.

You can also use the amp as a 50 watt amp by pluggin BOTH outputs from your preamp into the two imputs of Channel one, leave it as STEREO and only turn on Channel 1 on the front panel.
