How to dial in metalzone?

Bonamassa recently said he used a Metal Zone, but not set to kill.

Why?

Direct wire. Avoids any cable capacitance that might mask those metal 'tonez'

It's always been one of my favorite pedals! I like to keep all the knobs turned all the way down & adjust the volume to taste. Then I sweep the midrange frequency back & forth to find 2-3 sweet spots for different tones. That's it. I think people over the years complain about this pedL because the just turn all the knob up.

Volume set to 0, adjust the other ones to taste.

Not two Metal Zones... but Slaughter of the Soul is an HM-2 boosting an MT-2 into a solid state Peavey into a home-made cab. That tone destroys, but I'm sure the fact that the record is historic and highly influential has something to do with it.
