any tips on how to play the style of country?

btw I've already got the Telecaster... but not the fingers for country yet. :fingersx:

Country isnt a style, its a way of life! :usa1:

Get the 'country hot licks' video with arlen roth. its old, and arlen looks hilarious...but he can play some mean licks

For old country and honky tonk, you want to dial in a solid cutting tone and play spitty, snarly lines without sustaining any one note too much. The reason for it is that the pedal steel takes care of the swooping, fat, sustaining tones. As a guitar player, you don't want to get in the way of that.
