Hi guys, I need a little help please.

I have a a2p hum that I had direct mounted to a guitar I do not have anymore. I had to use wood screws and the holes are now slightly wider than the screws that came stock from Seymour Duncan.

Has anyone any ideas on how to fix this as it needs to be mounted in a pickup ring setup again and needs to be height adjustable?

Thanks.

use some heavy duty super glue to fill the holes and then redrill the holes to the proper size. I usually use a few good coats before I redrill. I've also heard of some people using was, but I don't think that would hold up well.

Go to the hard ware store and pick up some JB Weld and some nuts/bolts. I believe the size Duncan and DiMarzio use is 4-40/4-42. Clean the tabs/area with acetone/alchol, JB Weld the nuts to the tabs, let them try and then run the screws thru.
I don't know how a two-part epoxy would hold up, but I've done this for awhile and haven't had any problems. PM me if you'd like pic's.

I swear, You can use JB weld to rig up anything.
I dont have the patience for JB weld so I use JB quick.

Both are good ideas...I've used the super glue method several times. It's also good for fixing stripped screw holes. Just fill the hole about 3/4 of the way with super glue, insert the scre and tighten it all the way, then let it dry. Once the glue has set, use a screwdriver to break the screw free of the glue. This will leave thread marks in the glue, which will grip the screw when it's inserted. I've used this trick a few times as well.

That's how the SH12 is mounted in my fat strat copy.

I may be a little late, but if you push a toothpick into the wood of the body where the oversized holes are, it will take up room in the screw hole. Break the rest of the toothpick away and then push an awl (or nail) into the center to form a start for the new screw. You won't even need glue. It will screw down tight. I am a professional woodworker and have done this many times. I just performed this trick on the stipped out screw holes on the control cover of my own guitar. Good Luck!
