Well i don't want to have a black PU anymore,I want them to be neon Orange!!!

So how to paint them.Wich material?I don't want to melt/damage the coil anyway ,so i need precise information hahah:bigok:

Thanx alot!

Re: How to paint a PU?

I'd try Tamiya R/C model paint... get the stuff for painting polycarbonate car shells... it's flexible and I think you can get it in spray. To mask the pole pieces you can get liquid masking paint... just peel off when the paint is dry.

Cool idea!I hope those paints doesn't damagee the coil!!!

Re: How to paint a PU?

I wouldn't think so as the Polycarb shells are quite thin and flimsy, if there was any type of thinners or corrosive ingredients I think it would eat through the shell. Best to try an old pup if you have one first though!! Good luck. Just a thought, what about the Neon orange (also lime green) reflective self adhesive backed sheets you can buy for highlighting hazzards... they use it on aircraft, ships etc!

Very cool idea!Alltough i have to cut it precisely ,that's the most effective way!I don't know if it's cheap ,or where to get it in that color i want ,but i have to check it.

I found some paint material from Revell ,wich is water based and Flourecant!I think that's the right thing!

Fluorescent paint requires a white primer coat to work... it would not look good on black.

Seriously... check this:

I've used these bobbin toppers and they will do exactly what you want. They are inexpensive and easy to apply.

Yeah,they're "effectively" cool!
He'll prolly do an Orange for you, too!
Get spares,just in case,tho.
Took me a few,& they're not reusable after they've been on a while...

Actually,I need to re-up on some.
:/

Re: How to paint a PU?

would doing this over a cover for a Lace sensor prevent any tone from coming through? Cause someone painted my LS black before and now because I strum hard it's started to chip off.

Sorry... I didn't notice the Berlin thing... here the shipping is only $2 and I can get it in less than a week.

As for the fluorescent paint... the plastic on the bobbin seems too smooth to take paint well. If you rough it up with some light sandpaper - mask the poles and the sides - then paint a base coat of white - then the fluorescent - it should work pretty well.

One thought - if you use bottles (like in model car paint) instead of rattle can spray bombs - you'll have more control and it will be easier to touch up down the road if you get scratches on it.
