How to play pull off's correctly

How do I play them correctly? Because I can't get a proper sound when I try, usually I'm just lifting the finger from the string, and I'm sure that's not the real way, because it doesn't really produce much sound at all.

Can you tell me?? I need to be able do to hammer on's/pull off's.

Thanks.

well... you don't need to do anything but... alright, yeah you need to :)

I've always been able to get them to sound decent just by pulling straight off quickly but really you should kind of pull off downward rather than outward if that makes sense, plucking the string in the process. It's very subtle.

Maybe buy a guitar with more sustain:D Do you have trouble with hammer ons? Just smack your finger down!:D

Myself i pull off in a downward way, same goes when im tapping with the right hand i hit the strings so they bend slightly down.

+1

You pretty much have to bend it slightly when you pull off, or you won't get a good sound
