How will this sound?

Hey, I've got an Epiphone G-400 with a Dimebucker bridge and a '59 neck (no, I don't like/listen to/enjoy Dimebag Darrel, I just like the pickups) and I love the sound of the dime and the dime and 59 together but I'm just not digging the '59 on its own. I have a JB laying around and I think I'm going to install it in the neck (I know its a bridge model, they all are) and I want to know if the spacing will be accurate and how it will sound. Thanks!

ive heard JB's get really muddy in the neck. but theres definately no harm in trying it out.

I tired Custom Bridge (SH-5) on neck and it turned muddy, hard to control, full of gain and overload... Jb would sound smilar but a Jazz neck would be the better

Gentlemen: These pickups sound terrible in the neck because they are high output pickups designed for the bridge.

Never put high output pickups in the neck position, this is a recipe for MUD and a terrible lack of balance with the bridge pu.

Good rule of thumb: Anything much over 8k ohms does not belong in the neck position.

Apparantly the DDn sounds good and thats like 12.7 or something i think

Some people do infact JB's in the neck. If I remember correctly, Zerberus on here uses one in the neck and I think a few other people do also. My Jackson Sl-4 came with a JB bridge and a JB in the neck from the factory. I hate the JB bridge but, it isnt too bad at all in the neck position. Give it a shot.

BTW, the "never put anything over 8K in the neck" thats BS!! The DD neck is one hell of a good sounding neck pickup and resistance means next to nothing as far as sound goes. I have played a number of pickups over 8K in the neck position and have had success with them. Also, I do have decent ears, I am no rookie player. Maybe they dont work for some people but, alot of people like them.
