I have a PRS SE Santana that I want to put a '59 in the neck the issue is its a single conductor cable and the diagram is for a 4 connector. How would I do this?
bare as in the metal braided wire to ground - this would go to the back of the volume or tone pot
the wire inside to the "neck lead" of that diagram
I'd approach it by grounding the braided wire to the back of the pot and extending the other portion to the switch to avoid as much complication as possible as I hate cloth and braided wire myself and avoid it at all cost in builds.The easiest way to extend it would be with some old wire from a previous build and heat shrink or electric tape. Just remember to tin both sides of the wire going to the "neck lead" portion of the switch with solder before joining them for the best connection and cover the newly formed solder joint with tape.The reason I like to do things this way is if I get bored of a pickup and want to sell it the next person will have lots of wire left over.
