How would this sound?

How would a guitar with a maple body and Limba neck sound, considering the guitar has a set-through neck? Will there be more of a limba sound or would the maple be the dominant tone in the guitar?

I have no clue

But I'd like to thank you for referring to Limba by it's proper name, and not calling it Korina.

I don't know, but I don't like the sound of it. Too much maple in the mix will be too bright for my taste.

Re: How would this sound?

Now if you went radical and made the guitar fretless like Frank Zappa I think did once, then I would hazard a guess that Limba would be dominant. Otherwise, maple is my guess.

Re: How would this sound?

It'd sound like "durr durr dah durrnh" more than "pling plingy pling", but would lean more towards "womf womf womf" than "gannh gannh gannh".

Hope that helps.

Re: How would this sound?

too dang bright, in the first place!

Crossley says he thinks the neck wood imparts more of the tone...

Re: How would this sound?

Lol! maybe it was a somewhat strange question...
I also just figured out that this wood combo comes very close to the woodcombo of a gibson es335...

Re: How would this sound?

If it's neck through, I 'd think the limba would dominate and the maple would just color a bit. Probably sound good with some darker pickups....:scratchch
