..I mean, 'how'd I do'? I found a local C-list ad for a Chinese Squier Strat with accessories for $125..I offered $100, and he took it.

I can use the stand...the Taylor gig bag ...well, I have too many gig bags as it is. The strap was a big bonus, a quality leather strap I can really use. The instruction book and the music stand are something I do not need at all. The little practice amp I have no use for, but it works perfect... I listed on our local Varage Sale for 40 bucks to try and get some money back on the deal- it works perfect.

The Guitar stand I can use. The footstand I wouldn't use.

The guitar sounds like dog azz like all cheap guitars , but I have been looking for a decent cheap Strat to do an SRV tribute, and most importantly it plays OK- tuners are junk though.

I'm definitely going to upgrade tuners, and acquire a SRV pickgaurd, then probably put Duncan Design Strat pickups and a upgrade gold bridge.Oh, and a gold jack I already have.

Re: Howdy Doo

I think with a new neck, new pickguard, new electronics, new body and all new hardware that it might be ok! LOL.

I bet you can make the neck work, even if the frets need a level/polish (as long as they're not ruined or too low already) and a new nut/tuners. The body should be fine, but try to grab a used set of SSL-1's or something instead of DD. Sell the rest. For $100, you're ahead of the curve.
