Re: How's the SH-12 in the neck position?
I had the tb12 in bridge : very clear , fast response to pick attack , BIG attack , enough bass, mids, and a lot of treebles !! harmonics are easy .
All this is good ( except , sometime , mean treebles and big attack when you want softness ) but it is not a distortion class p-u ; if you want high gain you have to rely on preamp or pedal .
So that said i have a sh 12 in neck : It have all the qualities found in the bridge position , treebles are just fine now but it can be a bit muddy on bass A - E string with a lot of gain ; what i do ( but with a Jazz neck as well ) is i reduce bass before preamp with an EQ or overdrive ( Boss OD 1 ) and it's fine .
And ouputwise it is powerfull in neck , it still have this big tone ( with more ouput in neck ) and good fast response .
It is like a hotter Jazz neck pickup to resume .
It is not as subtle as a sh1 '59 neck .
