HS Tele Wiring 500k For Bridge, 250k For Neck.

I have one of those HTT (Two tele neck pups in middle and neck positions) that I'd like to change to a HT (TB-5 Custom in the bridge and Area T in the neck) set up with 3 way switch, 1 volume (with a treble bleed) and 1 tone pot.

I'd like to wire it up so that the TB-5 sees 500k volume pot and the Area T sees 250k. This is possible right? Is it also possible so that they still see those respective numbers when in the middle position? If so, how do I do this? I know I add a 470k or 510k resistor somewhere but I'm not sure. Would I just add it to the hot from the Area T before hits the 3 way switch? Or would I do that on the Bridge lead?

All you have to do it connect a 470k or 510k resistor between the hot lead of the Area T and ground.

...however(!), if you're also using a 500k tone control you might want to have a 125k load on the neck pickup. The 125k is the combination of a 250k volume and a 250k tone. While 125k load doesn't apply to the bass, taking a minute amount of bass away is a good thing for a neck pickup. To get a 125k load put either a 240k or 270k resistor on the neck pickup instead.

All you would need to do is to identify the lug on the switch for the neck and solder a resistor to that lug and ground it to the back of the volume pot. That way when the switch is in that position you have the resistor + pot = 250K.

Just run two 500k pots and use the tone knob to tame the neck if need be.

Right that's what I was looking for, thanks!

Do you happen to know if that will also give the neck a 250k "load?" in the middle position as well? Though I most likely won't be using a neck"single"+bridge humbucker in this guitar. (maybe I should just do a two way toggle or maybe just two volume controls since I very rarely use my tone knob :D)
