5 way with one volume, one tone

Trying to find a good set of bookends for a Lil 59 in the middle.
Alnico II Pro in the neck and a Pearly Gates at the bridge is where I'm currently leaning.
I'm tempted to go with something chimey in the neck though. So any input specifically related to that is also greatly appreciated.

Looking for tips, advice, feedback/user experience/testimonials of any kind.

I play quite a bit of styles. I don't have any problem getting excellent metal tone with PAF output levels

Mostly I just want to make sure the volume matches well enough that there is no noticeable dip when playing in position 3

I am not going to do any coil splitting. I'm already intimidated enough with getting the caps/pots right for an HSH with one/one knob setup! lol (I've done lots of SSS and HH swaps though)

Thanks in advance

Well, if you go with a Alnico II Pro in the neck (my fav neck pickup), you can always keep an Alnico 5 magnet on hand. Putting that in the Alnico II Pro makes the pickup a Jazz, which would have all the chime you need. You can also go with another Pearly Gates neck pickup there, as that is a brighter sounding PAF as well.

i would either go with a set of aph1 or a pg set. while they are both vintage output a2 buckers, an aph1n and pgb are quite a disparate pair. i love the pgb by the way

Pg set or a dimarzio 36th set.

Both are considered hotter paf sets, but to me they are more a hotter signature/sound with more mids rather than it being an output thing.
