I'm building an HSH strat and trying to decide on pickups. I've had a few guitars with SD pickups - one with a Jazz / Lawrence L-220 / JB, one with a Slash set, and one with a 59 / SH-5 Custom. I've been very happy with all of these, and they have gotten me the tone I was looking for in each guitar. For this HSH strat (alder/rosewood), I will be playing mostly blues, funk and rock. I'll be wiring it with a 500k master volume with treble bleed, a 500k master tone with a push pull for splitting, and a blender pot. I actually think a Jazz / Custom Flat RWRP / JB would fit the bill nicely, but I'm open to something else since I already have a Jazz / JB in another guitar. I have considered something like a Sentient / Quarter Pounder / 59 Custom Hybrid, but I'm not sure what the Sentient sounds like when split. Any suggestions?
