HSH - standard or rwrp

Probably rwrp, but it depends on how its wired. In the 2 and 4 position what coils of the humbucker do you want to be active?

I think standard if split to stud. RW/RP if split to screws. I think. Been awhile since I've done this. (Where's freefrog when we need him?) :bigthumb:

Yeah this sounds right. Well it doesn't sound right, hahaha cause usually the RWRP comes in the middle of an SSS set. I was also surprised by this when I researched my first HSS setup, as I had to put the RWRP pickup in the neck slot rather than the middle in that case. But yeah standard single coil for the middle of most HSH and HSS configs.

If you have to use the the "wrong" one, you can still get the split to be in phase if you swap the hot/ground wires , but you won't get the noise cancelling

It may be that standard HSH splits to the screw coils, unlike HH splits.
I'm not sure either.

But there's some logic to it - since the center's there to flesh things out, you could use screw coils.
Extra bite from the bridge coil, and extra neckiness from the other.

If memory serves, the screw coil has a south polarity, slug coil is north. That would indicate you need to use a RWRP single coil to match with the slug coils since their single coils are typically North. Its been a minute so you should double check that information

Run standard if you want it to be humbucking when run with a traditionally split humbucker. Have run several. If you are running an SSH set up, run the RW RP in the neck not the middle. That's for any Duncan single except the Antiquity Texas Hot as they are north leading.

Spot on here!

This is true. On my SSH Strat, I needed rw/rp in the neck.
