I have an HSH Strat like guitar, with Little 59 in bridge and neck and a SSL-1 in the middle position. I implemented the following wiring diagram on it:

however, differently from the "5-way Switch Settings" diagram, when I switch to 2nd and 4th positions, the same coil is turned off in the humbuckers (don't remember if it's the north coil or the south one). is this a common thing? is the diagram wrong?
besides that, the 2nd and 4th positions are not totally hum-canceling (like 1st and 5th positions). I followed exactly what's in that wiring scheme. could the middle pickup be out-of-phase with the buckers (my SSL-1 is not RW/RP).
