HSH Warmoth Body

Alder body, I just want to be sure the pups that go into it won't be too bright. Probably an ebony fretboard, since (I forget who said it) it's in between maple and rosewood tone-wise. I'm thinking JB bridge, Hot Stack middle. The neck humbucker I'm not sure about. I want to try a Screamin Demon, but I also want it to sound good when split with the middle. I remember Lew saying that the 59 and Jazz split very well, so those are definately options. Any ideas?

It more than likely will be a hardtail. I like Alice in Chains, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Label Society, Racer X.

Re: HSH Warmoth Body

well, i have an A2P in the neck of my guitar that has a JB bridge ... i like it alot .. but for the music you describe, i wonder if a PGn would be even better

i'm sure others will chime in

cheers

Firts time I've ever quoted myself! Anyway, a JB bridge will work for these bands right? EVEN Racer X?

Re: HSH Warmoth Body

i'll go with what racer X said, and say the Custom for bridge.

i love the one i got in my charvel, so perfect for me.
i think the Custom would get you closer to those sounds than the JB even though jerry cantrell uses one but he also has a bogner ecstacy head. and remember these words:

"anything sounds good through a bogner!"

so therefore i say the Custom/lil 59/ '59(or PGn)

Re: HSH Warmoth Body

Opinions are like a--holes, everyone has one. For what it's worth...here's mine.

A lot of what you're asking depends on the amp your using. I am of the school of thought that you use pickups that are more transparent, lower output, and let your guitar tone any playing style come through. You then use your amp and limited effects to make your tone heavier. People used to use higher output pickups to drive non-master volume amps into overdrive sooner. With modern amps that is not as necessary.

I am able to cover a wide variety of tones and bands with just my pair of APH II's and my Marshall. I am famalier with some of the bands that you listed, specifically AIC and STP. I would bet that I could replicate several of the songs using a 59' bridge, APH bridge, or C5 bridge and that it would be hard to tell the difference between them by the time effects were added to make it sound similar to the original.

I guess what I'm saying is that a set of 59's would be great if you wanted a tighter, slightly brighter tone, or a set of APH's if you wanted the lows and highs to be slightly softer.

There's 2 shiney pennies from me to rub together.

Re: HSH Warmoth Body

Thanks for all your help guys. I think I'm going to go with C5 bridge/PG neck, it sounds 'right' to me.
