Greetings everyone!
I've got a BC Rich STiii that I'm nursing back to health. LOL It has a standard HSS setup, as most STiii's do.
I would like to put a Nazgul pickup in the bridge, but I'm confused as to what single coils to use in the middle and neck positions. I'm thinking something like a JB Jr (perhaps for both) but I've also heard hot rails can be used.
I will be using this guitar for hard rock/heavy metal and want it to sound like a beast. Clean sound is somewhat important, but my biggest concern is being able to offer searing leads and big, beefy crunch that knocks people into next week and sustains just as long.
So the question: If I put a Nazgul in the bridge, what should I put in the middle and neck to balance things out so I don't end up with a horrible mess?
Thanks in advance for all of your help/opinions, etc.
