HSS phase issue

Hey folks, I'm a nuB when it comes to guitar wiring. I have a super strat HSS I'm swapping the pups on. I put in a BurstBucker 3 in the bridge and it sound great in position 1 on my 5 way switch but position 2 is out of phase. What should I be looking for? The BB3 is a four wire plus the ground. and goes to a two way coil split toggle.

Re: HSS phase issue

On the BB3, combine green with the bare wire and attach to ground. Combine red with black and connect to the switch for splitting. Use white as your hot wire.

If you have an issue with hum in position 2 you can either split to the other coil or you can flip the magnet in the BB3 and go back to the original wiring that you used.

Thanks, That must be it. Right now the green and white are combined and going to the coil splitter red is going to the 5 way. Bare is soldered to the back of the volume pot.

Re: HSS phase issue

If it does then it won't after swapping wires. Zhangliqun is right about swapping the wiring on both singles, but sometimes the wires are cut to length, and you'll need to change four wires regardless.
