HSS Setup - Blackouts Metal equivalent

Greetings,

I have a Charvel Model 4 body (HSS) that can only take active pickups.

Heard the Blackouts Metal without the jumper connected and seems it would have been ideal to balance with active single coils, However, it appears to be discontinued.

There still appears to be the Blackouts preamp, however, I'm not sure how it would be set up with a couple of active singles.

Two questions:
1 - Which humbucker would sound similar to the Blackout Metal (low output mode) with the Blackout preamp
2 - How to wire it?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

the blackout preamp is for use with passive pups as far as i know, never heard of it being used with actives. i have a set of the blackout singles and think they are great! im sure you could find a blackout metal pup used if you really like it and they are discontinued
